Historically, jesters could be either the brilliance behind the king or simply the fool. The clown or jester ruffle usually depicts its wearer as being bereft of anything serious. For example, place this ruffle around the neck of a rhino, gorilla, or shark. They lose their essence and become humorous objects. Yet in the case of "Moon Jester," I see him as the wise man in the moon in an interesting, but somewhat silly outfit.
